Empowering children to learn through play

OUR SCHOOL

We believe in empowering children to make their own choices, engage in adventurous play in a safe, fun and nurturing environment. All of our teachers are fully qualified Early Childhood Teachers & we are a registered Early Childhood Centre .

We are a family-centred kindergarten, run by a parent-elected Committee. Our small session sizes (limited to 20 children per session) mean we can form close relationships with children, family & whānau. We encourage our children to be independent, self-managing and respectful of each other and their environment. We see children as competent, powerful and capable individuals.

We are located within the school grounds of Hillcrest Normal Primary School (link) & we regularly visit the school to use the playgrounds, fields and library. The transition to school couldn't get any easier.

We have a collaborative and inclusive approach to managing our centre. Parents are encouraged to share in decision making. We use Storypark (link) to share and celebrate each child's learning experiences. If you are a parent who would like to join our Committee please drop us a line here (link) or come in and chat to us any time to find out more.
